Xi was brought to Nasa Pet in a critical, life-threatening condition, presenting with jaundice, persistent vomiting, complete appetite loss, and hematuria (passing fresh blood in his urine). Following a comprehensive physical examination, blood work, and X-ray imaging, our veterinary team diagnosed Xi with severe anemia, a positive case of blood parasites, advanced hepatitis, and a critical bowel obstruction caused by a massive accumulation of impacted feces in his intestinal tract.
With the kind permission and cooperation of the venerable monk at Hộ Quốc Pagoda, the doctors immediately ran compatibility tests and performed a blood transfusion, using blood donated by another healthy dog living at the pagoda. Once stabilized, Xi underwent emergency surgery to successfully remove the fecal impaction.
Performing major surgery while a patient is actively suffering from advanced hepatitis and blood parasites carries an exceptionally high risk of mortality. However, thanks to the extensive expertise of Nasa Pet's surgical team and Xi's incredible resilience, the procedure was a success. Xi has stabilized beautifully and made a remarkable recovery.
